Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until today. Since February of 2020, she has made 53 deals with the show, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover from one job to the next throughout Corcoran's youth. The family depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who was drunk sometimes and was rude to her mother. Corcoran struggled with her education and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic primary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
